CHICAGO – It’s an end of an era for Morton Salt. The company plans to close its packaging and warehousing operations on Elston Avenue, just north of Division.
It’s been operating there since 1929.
It will close by the end of next month.
You may remember, a wall at the facility collapsed last year, half burying a dozen cars in salt.
The company says the change will be “more efficient”.
Twenty-three employees will be affected.
