CARY, Ill. — Metra Union Pacific Northwest trains are operating with extensive delays after a pedestrian was struck and killed near suburban Cary.

It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. All Metra UP-NW were halted for several hours while crews secured the scene.

The pedestrian has not yet been identified.
