CHICAGO —Metra riders should expect business as usual for the evening rush after concrete dropped onto some of the tracks at Union Station Wednesday morning.
Amtrak had to make emergency repairs on tracks 2, 4 and 6, which affected Metra’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe line, the Southwest Commuter Line and the Heritage Corridor.
At 4 p.m. Metra tweeted that the tracks were back in service and the evening commute would operate as normal.
Tracks 2, 4 and 6 are back in service at Chicago Union Station. We are expecting a normal evening rush period with the usual track assignments.
