Metra train hits car, Infant among injured

CHICAGO — An infant was among three people who were hurt when a Metra train hit a car on the South Side.

It happened Friday afternoon at 71st Street and Yates Boulevard, near the Metra Electric’s South Shore station.

A Metra official says the car drove under the rail crossing arms.

A child and woman in the car were seriously hurt.

A man who was on the train was also taken to the hospital, with a knee injury.
