Metra and Amtrak warn of possible delays and cancellations

Metra is warning of possible delays Monday morning.

The agency says temperatures will force trains to slow down to prevent damage  to the tracks.

Amtrak service to Chicago will also be reduced Monday. They have canceled  several trains already.  The modified schedules will affect Amtrak’s  Chicago Hub service as some trains will be canceled on a precautionary basis to  maintain service on all routes.  Passengers are asked to use caution on  their way to and from stations and to also expect delays on Monday.

The following trains will NOT be running Monday:

Lincoln Service trains No. 300, 301, 306 and 307 running between Chicago & St. Louis.

Hiawatha Service trains No. 329, 332, 333, 336, 337 and 340 running between  Chicago & Milwaukee.

Wolverine Service trains No. 350 and 355 running between Chicago and  Detroit.

Illinois Zephyr & Carl Sandburg trains 382 and 383 running between  Chicago & Quincy.

Saluki & Illini trains No. 392 and 393 running between Chicago &  Carbondale.
