Mentally-challenged teen found in cage

Two people were arrested in Michigan after a mentally-challenged teen was found in a caged bed last Monday.

According to WNEM, officials responded to a domestic dispute at a home located on the 3700 block of Minden Road in Paris Township on Oct 20.

After receiving permission, officials entered a bedroom and found the 19-year-old locked in a cage bed.

The Department of Human Services emergency center was contacted. Three adults and two children were also removed from the home.

The home is for those with special needs and is known as ‘Tolin’s Acres of Angels.’

A 65-year-old female and a 66-year-old male were arrested on felony charges, police said. Their identities were not released.

Both have been arraigned on felony charges of unlawful imprisonment and vulnerable adult abuse.

Police are investigating.
