Search continues for 2 suspects in suburban carjacking

ORLAND PARK, Ill. -- Police continue to search for two carjacking suspects that are believed to be armed.

A woman in a mini-van was the victim of an armed carjacking around 2 a.m. Monday on 213th Street near Memorial Park Matteson. The carjacking led to a police pursuit that ended in Orland Park.

Authorities searched the area near 153rd Street and Highland Avenue, where the suspects took off on foot.

Carl Sandburg High School was placed on lockdown during the search.

A 16-year-old suspect was caught by police.

Police describe the other two suspects as black men, in their teens or early 20s, who were wearing dark colored hoodies. One suspect had braided hair.

Police said they believe the suspects are no longer in the area.
