Person in custody in connection with River North child sexual assault

CHICAGO — A person of interest is in custody in connection with the sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl in River North, police said Wednesday.

At around 8:20 a.m. Monday a child was sexually abused inside a restaurant bathroom on the 600 block of N. Clark St., according to police.

Police said Tuesday they were looking for a man wearing a blue hat, black jacket, tan pants, white gym shoes, and carrying a white bag.

Police said updates will follow as the investigation continues.
