Man shot dead in Englewood

CHICAGO — A 39-year-old man was shot dead in Englewood early Friday.

Police responding to a call of shots fired found the victim laying on the ground in the 600 block of West 63rd Street about 2:50 a.m. Friday, according to the Chicago Police Department. The man had been shot in his abdomen and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are investigating.

No one was in custody.
