Glenwood man calls police, admits to killing wife, son

GLENWOOD, Ill. — Glenwood police are investigating a double murder and attempted suicide.

The police chief says that a call came in to 911 around 3:30 p.m. from a man who said he had just killed his wife and son.

When police arrived they found the man in his garage with self-inflicted wounds to his wrist.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but has not been arrested. His neighbors have identified him as Irving Williams.

Inside police found his wife and son dead, the latter identified by neighbors as Irving Jr.

It is not known at this time the cause of death.

The neighbors are in shock, only have nice things to say about the family, that has lived in that home for around 25 years. A family friend says that he knew of no problems the family was having and they always seemed to be very nice.
