Man killed in ATV accident on Chicago’s Southwest Side

CHICAGO -- A 49-year-old man was killed when he crashed his ATV on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

The accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 6200 block of South Austin Avenue.

Police say the man drove a four-wheeler through a stop sign and then hit another vehicle, knocking the man off the ATV.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His identity has not been released.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet and they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
