ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a 50-year-old man was killed when his clothing became caught in machinery at a plant in a northwest suburb of Chicago.

Elk Grove Village police say Wayne Follman, who worked at the warehouse, died before officers and firefighters arrived at Acme Industries late Wednesday morning.

A spokesman for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration says Follman became caught in a power lathe, a machine that spins quickly to shape or cut products, including metal and wood.

Acme CEO Guy Cassidy says the company is trying to determine how the accident happened.

Police don’t suspect foul play. An investigation is ongoing.
