A man is in critical condition after being shot by Chicago Police on the South Side.
Officers were responding to a gang-related disturbance near 47th and Ada streets just before 11 p.m. on Saturday.
They say a man, who was with a group of people, had a gun and started running.
Officers chased him into an alley. Police say that's where the man turned and pointed his gun at an officer, who shot him three times.
The man was rushed into surgery.
No officers were injured.
Police say the man's gun was recovered at the scene. The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the shooting.
