Man found fatally shot in River West neighborhood

Chicago Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man in the River West Neighborhood.

The 34-year-old man was in a car that hit a pole in the 1200 block of West Chicago Avenue just after midnight, police said.

Minutes later, he drove about a quarter of a mile and crashed his car in the 1000 block of West Ancona Street, near the Kennedy Expressway.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.

It’s unclear when the shooting took place.

His identity is not being released until authorities can contact his family.

According to a neighbor, the 34-year-old lived in a building near the 1000 block of West Ancona Street, where police found him.
The neighbor told Police he heard gunshots, ran outside and saw a brown bumper on the ground and a light blue SUV speed away from the scene.WGN
