Man fatally stabbed at Pilsen bar

CHICAGO — A man was stabbed to death at a bar in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.

It happened shortly after midnight Saturday at Simone’s Bar in the 900 block of West 18th Street.

The man suffered a stab wound to the neck. A medical examiner identified the victim as 43-year-old Rodolfo Avina.

He was unresponsive when police arrived, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A suspect is in police custody, but charges have yet to be filed.
