CHICAGO — Police have identified the man who was killed in a fireworks accident on Chicago’s South Side.

Juan Acevedo, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a severe head injury.

Police bomb and arson units were called to a home in the 3900 block of West 85th Street after an explosion there around 4 p.m. Monday.

No details were provided about how the accident occurred.
