A dispute between neighbors led to animal cruelty charges against a man in the Brighton Park neighborhood.

Chicago police say the man laid out fishing hooks and fishing line to injure his neighbor’s dog, near 45th and Troy.

The owner found the dog howling in pain, with hooks in its flesh and its hind legs entangled.

The owner says his neighbor threatened to set a bear trap for the dog.
