ATLANTA — A man accused of intentionally leaving his toddler son to die in a hot car appeared in court this morning outside Atlanta.

Justin Ross Harris claims he forgot to drop his 22-month-old son Cooper at day care on his way to work in June 2014.

The boy died after being in the car in near 90 degree temperatures for more than 7 hours.

During this morning’s hearing on pre-trial motions, prosecutors read text exchanges between Harris and several women in which he discussed his unhappy marriage and desire to be child free.

Harris is charged with multiple counts of murder and child cruelty.
