CHICAGO — Chicago police are investigating a deadly shooting on the Northwest Side.

Isaac Acevedo Jr., 23, was found shot to death just after 1 a.m. Thursday in the Logan Square neighborhood.

Acevedo was in the passenger’s seat of a vehicle traveling south near North Central Park Avenue and West Schubert Avenue, when a white SUV pulled up next to them and someone inside started firing.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Acevedo’s girlfriend, who was driving him home from work at the time, was struck by broken glass and was treated at a hospital.

Acevedo’s father says he worked as a welder by day and cashier at Walgreen’s at night, sometimes putting in 16-hour days.

No suspects are in custody.
