Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV is proud to team up with Make-A-Wish Illinois for an airline miles drive to support wishes granted to Illinois children. This year, more than 700 children with critical illnesses will have their wishes granted through Make-A-Wish Illinois, with an astonishing 80% of those wishes requiring air travel.  The “Make-A-Wish Miles Drive” will take place at the GATX Corporation in Chicago on Thursday, June 7 and will be covered by WGN-TV from 7am to 7pm.  WGN News will have stories, cut-ins and updates on WGN Morning News, WGN Midday News andWGN Evening News.  A full recap will be on WGN News at Nine and WGN News at Ten.  More information about the drive can be found at WGNTV.com/MakeAWish

Many major airlines based in the United States allow members of their frequent flier programs to donate airline miles to Make-A-Wish.  Frequent fliers can learn more about donating their air miles today at illinois.wish.org/miles.  Miles from Delta Airlines and United Airlines can be donated directly to Make-A-Wish Illinois during this event.  Miles and points from American Airlines can be donated through their Kids In Need program, and Southwest Airlines and JetBlue can be donated through each airline’s program.

Donating air miles to Make-A-Wish is easy – and the miles never expire once they are in the Make-A-Wish account.  Donated miles are used exclusively for wish family travel.  Air travel is often required for wishes to attend national sporting events, to meet a celebrity or to visit an exotic location.
