Maine West High School Athletic Director Christopher Addante’ will step down from his current position at the end of the school year.

District 207 officials say his resignation is not related to an ongoing hazing scandal at the Des Plaines school.

In his resignation letter dated Feb. 28, Addante says he needed to “devote more time to my family,” including his son and daughter, who both play on multiple athletic teams.

Addante will remain at the school as a business education teacher, according to district spokesman Dave Beery.

District officials have not discussed Addante’s replacement, Beery said.
