CHICAGO -- Lollapalooza is off to a rocking start, and day two promises to be just as exciting.

Sir Paul McCartney put on a classic show to end day one of the festivities at Grant Park, but he was just the finale of a jam-packed day. Alabama Shakes, alt-J, and Cold War Kinds also performed, along with more than 40 others.

The music resumes Saturday at noon. Day two is highlighted by Metallica, Sam Smith, and Walk the Moon. For the full line-up, visit the Lollapalooza website.

More than 140 acts will perform eight stages during the three-day festival.

Tickets to the festival are sold out, but some people are still finding them on the secondary market.
