HULL, Ala. -- An injured man trapped in his home for 10-days was saved by the woman who delivers his mail.

Cissy Cartwright has been a letter carrier in Hull, Alabama for more than 20 years.

Tommy Hope is on her route. The 66-year-old fell in his home on July 4 and broke several bones.

He was stuck on the floor for 10 days and couldn't reach the phone.

He survived on rainwater from a bucket on the porch.

Cartwright noticed his mail piling up in the mailbox and drove up to his house to check on him.

Tommy Hope was treated for dehydration is now recovering in the hospital.

Cartwright has visited him several times.
