Lemont High School evacuated over threatening email

LEMONT, Ill. -- After receiving a threatening email Friday morning, Lemont High School has evacuated all of its students and staff.

The school made the decision based on the advice of local authorities, and posted the evacuation announcement on its website.

For students. here is the evacuation plan:

  • Students who are bus riders will be taken home via the normal afternoon routes.
  • Students who are walkers will proceed home as they normally would.
  • Students who drive to campus - as well as those students who ride with them - have been asked to proceed to their cars to leave campus.
  • Students who normally are picked up at the end of the day will be transported to Central School on McCarthy Road. Parents may pick up these students at Central School.

Additionally, the girls' basketball games at home against Reavis have been postponed.
