Amid protests in Chicago, with demonstrators in and along the streets, it might be a city SUV that is behind a new lawsuit filed against the Chicago Police Department.

The lawsuit asks if police used mobile device called a ‘stingray” to intercept cell phone conversations.

Matt Topic, of Loevy & Loevy law firm, is representing the man behind the lawsuit.

He says a police scanner recording from Black Friday’s protest could be the smoking gun.

The case will go to court later this month.
