CHICAGO — Protesters who want a federal investigation into the Laquan McDonald case will try and disrupt downtown holiday shopping again Saturday, just like they did on Black Friday.
They have not said where specifically they will gather, just that Saturday’s protest will take place on Michigan Avenue.
The day after Thanksgiving, protesters successfully blocked shoppers from getting into numerous stores on the Magnificent Mile.
That day, they called on the resignations of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Chicago Police Superintendent Gary McCarthy and Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.
McCarthy stepped down this week. Emanuel and Alvarez have both said they will not resign.
