John Henson, the son of iconic puppeteer and Muppets creator Jim Henson, has died.

The younger Henson followed in his father’s footsteps.  He voiced the Muppets character named Sweetums.

Henson suffered a massive heart attack on Friday.  It happened at his home in upstate New York after he had been building an igloo in the snow with his daughter.

Henson’s sister said he did not have a history of heart trouble.

He was 48 years old.

Henson was a shareholder and board member of The Jim Henson Company.

Henson leaves behind a wife and two daughters, ages 10 and 15.

A private funeral service is planned.
