CHICAGO — Jim Belushi is suing the general manager of a River North comedy club for defamation.

The suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court claims the general manager of “The Comedy Bar” called Belushi a liar and accused him of committing fraud.

The comments came after the Comedy Bar tried unsuccessfully to license the trademark “Belushi’s Comedy Bar” from a company owned by the actor.

Belushi and his Comedy Club company are seeking more than 50 thousand dollars in damages, saying comics cancelled appearances at their clubs over the accusations.
