Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s wife Kristin Cavallari got a speeding ticket as she drove from Evanston to Chicago Friday morning.
And since she did not have an Illinois driver’s license, she was required to drive to Evanston police headquarters to post $150 bond.
Not long after she was ticked for driving over the posted speed limit, Cavallari tweeted:
Who knew having a California drivers license in Illinois was a CRIME to be escorted to the police station to post bail?!! What a morning

Such a procedure is normal for someone with an out-of-state driver’s license from certain states, police said. Evanston Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott said Cavallari’s license is from California, which does not participate in a cooperative agreement among states regarding licensing,
The citation carries a $120 fine, which could be deducted from the bond she posted, or could increase due to court costs, Parrott said.
Illinois law requires anyone who moves into the state to transfer their driver’s license within 30 days of the move.
