CHICAGO — A baby girl was among three people shot on the city’s South Side Friday evening.

According to police, the shooting happened on the 1900 block of East 71st Street around 5 p.m. They said two men were on the sidewalk when they were struck by “unknown gunfire.”

A 28-year-old man was shot in the knee and chest and was hospitalized at the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

A 65-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

A 5-month-old girl was grazed in the leg and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition. She was released around 7:30 p.m. to her mother.

The girl’s mother said they were standing at a bus stop on their way home from her mother’s house when someone opened fire. The woman ran back to her mother’s home while the girl was crying. When she went to change her diaper, she noticed a bullet-graze on the child’s leg.
