Immigrants, immigration advocates rally for reform

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Governor Pat Quinn joined labor and religious leaders, who want Congress to put immigration reform at the top of its agenda.

The rally took place in Union Park on the Near West Side Saturday.

It coincided with 150 rallies that happened across the country.

Activists want president Obama to stop deportations.

They’re also singling out Illinois Rep. Peter Roskam to support a comprehensive immigration bill that contains a path to citizenship.

A mass immigration reform march is scheduled for October 12th in Chicago.
