The iconic “Z” Frank Chevrolet sign on Western Avenue was pulled down Wednesday morning.

Chicago’s Best host Elliott Bambrough was in the neighborhood when it happened and caught the whole thing on video.

Bambrough posted the video to his Facebook page and many people left comments saying they couldn’t believe it was gone. Others recalled fond memories of purchasing their cars there years ago.

According to DNAinfo Chicago, the West Rogers Park car dealership was demolished in December. Property owner Chuck Frank told DNAinfo that anybody who wanted to take the 50-foot sign was “welcome to take it for free.”

Apparently, no one took him up on his offer.
