Chicago-based hourly car rental pioneer I-GO has been sold to Enterprise Holdings,  the owners of Enterprise, National and Alamo car rental companies, based in St. Louis.

The current owner, non-profit “I-GO Alternative Transportation for Chicagoland Inc.” will remain in Chicago, but with the sale, I-GO’s car service will no longer be a Chicago-based non-profit.

The I-GO name, cars, locations and reservations system are expected to remain the same, “Except with more, newer and cleaner cars,” according to I-GO CEO Sharon Feigon.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
