Hotel doorman stabbed, robbed while walking to work in the Loop

CHICAGO — A hotel doorman was stabbed in the neck and robbed on his way to work in Chicago’s Loop.

This happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday by the Residence Inn Marriott, located at 11 S. LaSalle Street.

The attacker pulled up in a tan Ford Explorer, got out, and stabbed the 21-year-old man in the neck near the hotel’s employee entrance.

He took the victim’s wallet and got away.

The victim was able to take himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in good condition.

The general manager of the hotel acknowledged that an employee was assaulted and said in a statement:

As soon as we became aware of the incident we immediately assisted our associate and contacted police.

There is no description of the suspect and no one in custody.
