CHICAGO — Flights arriving at O’Hare are experiencing delays of 2.5 hours on average according to the FAA after windy conditions prompted a ground stop at the airport earlier Wednesday.
O’Hare implemented a ground stop in respond to windy conditions in the area, but it has since been ended. Flights are moving again, but the FAA reported the lengthy delays as it implements a Traffic Management Program to handle the influx of planes.
Anyone headed to O’Hare is advised to check the flight status before heading to the airport.
Meanwhile, a Tornado Watch is in effect for several Illinois counties until 11 p.m. Counties included are Boone; Bureau; Carroll; De Kalb; Henderson; Henry; Jo Daviess; Knox; La Salle; Lee; Marshall; Mercer; Ogle; Putnam; Rock Island; Stark; Stephenson; Warren; Whiteside; Winnebago
