A Grinch pulled off a holiday heist in Oak Lawn Tuesday stealing the Salvation Army Kettle outside a Walgreens.
The theft occurred in the 6200 block of West 95th St just after 6 p.m. according to the Salvation Army.
A female bell ringer stepped inside the Walgreens to warm-up or use the restroom and while she was inside, someone came up and stole her kettle with about $400 cash inside.
The Salvation Army says this really upsetting-considering this time of year is supposed to be all about giving.
Unfortunately, this is a trend happening across the country.
In the last two weeks, there have been similar cases in Houston, Spokane Washington and Charlottesville, Virginia. Some thieves were armed and wearing masks.
Police are investigating.
