Counselors will be available today at a Des Plaines school after one of its students was shot and killed over the weekend.

Patrick Boswell was an eighth grader at Iroquois Community School.

He was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head Friday night, near Carol Court and Chestnut Street in Rosemont.

Police say it could be gang related.

It is Rosemont’s first homicide in a decade.

Residents are shocked it happened so close to home.

No suspects are in custody.

Authorities tell residents there is no threat to the public.
