Legendary lead singer for the Smiths, Morrissey, has postponed this weekend’s performance at the Chicago Theatre.

In a statement, promoters say the postponement is “due to band member illness.”  No further information has been released.

Saturday night’s show would have been a make-up show from an October 27, 2012 concert that was also postponed.

Tickets will be honored at a show in the future, but no date has been announced.

Through promoters, Morrissey said he, “would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience and wishes his band a speedy recovery.”
