Gasoline prices are expected to remain relatively low in 2016.

AAA estimates the annual average price of gas this year will be between $2.25 and $2.45 a gallon.

The average price in 2015 was $2.40 a gallon.

Some industry analysts predict U.S. producers will cut oil output, trimming the huge surplus and leading to a hike in gasoline prices.

But others say the move could be offset by a hike in Iran’s oil production due to the easing of sanctions against the country.
