As Hot Doug's prepares to shut its doors for good next Friday, the line outside the popular hot dog restaurant just keeps getting longer.

The owner says he's seen a lot during his time at, but yesterday he saw something new.

A wedding.

A couple planned their wedding while waiting in the long line outside - and then got married inside after ordering their hot dogs.

It was a big day for the couple, who has gone through alot obstacles to get there.

The last year hasn’t been easy for Carlie and Sarah. They were in a serious car accident along with two others from their roller derby team, the Windy City Rollers.

While at the hospital, they realized how much they wanted a legal marriage.

Illinois began allowing same sex marriages this year and Carlie and Sarah were ready to tie the knot. They knew they wanted to do something spontaneous and fun, but they never imagined it would all happen here at Hot Doug's.

WGN’s Sarah Jindra has the story of how it all came about.
