OMAHA, Neb. – Madison Hurd, a high school student in Omaha, Nebraska, was really looking forward to the prom.
But she has a heart problem and her illness put her in the pediatric intensive care unit, causing her to miss the dance.
But she has good friends.
They recreated the night’s theme of “The Great Gatsby” in an empty hospital room.
Madison’s date was in on the plan too. He showed up in a tuxedo and brought her a corsage.
The school even set up a video chat from the actual prom, so she could chat with friends during the event.
