CHICAGO --   Twice a month Our Lady of the Angels Mission invites its Humboldt Park neighbors over for dinner. Wednesday night it was a dinner of champions as Sister Alicia Torres celebratory her reality cooking show victory.

Sister Alicia was one of four chefs competing in Monday's episode of Food Network’s Chopped. Torres won the competition.

She returned home to Our Lady of the Angels Mission and got right back to the kitchen.

“On the West Side, in our neighborhood in Humboldt Park, this is a food desert and so it’s so important to bring in fresh foods for the people to be able to have nutritious meals,” she told WGN News.

The folks at Our Lady of the Angels Mission say they love Alicia spirit and they say the meals aren’t bad either.
