BROOKLYN -- A former NBA draft pick from Chicago has been found dead in the back seat of his car in New York City.
Police say Wednesday that 35-year-old Michael Wright was last seen Nov. 5. His body was found Tuesday morning covered in what appeared to be trash bags in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.
Police had gone to the area to search for him after a request from New Jersey police.
Wright was a star at Farragut High School and was drafted by the New York Knicks in 2001.
He never played in the NBA but did play in Europe until earlier this year.
His cousin told the Chicago Tribune that Wright was planning on heading back to Europe soon to continue his career.
The medical examiner has ruled Wright's death a homicide. There have been no arrests.
