Firefighters battle blaze on South Side

CHICAGO — The Chicago Fire Department was hard at work on the South Side Tuesday evening.

There was a fire on the first floor of a building at 3300 W. 83rd. Crews were working on the roof to ventilate the building.

One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
