No injuries reported at refinery fire in Lemont

A fire broke out at the Citgo refinery in southwest suburban Lemont.

The fire started at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the refinery’s crude oil unit.

The unit was immediately shut down.

On-site and local fire departments got the fire under control within a few hours.

There were no injuries and no evacuations were required.

The refinery is conducting air monitoring.
