Chicago firefighters think arson could be the cause of an apartment fire in Englewood.

The fire started shortly after 7a.m. Monday, near 56th and Racine.

Firefighters rescued a man from his third flood apartment.

He was able to climb down a ladder after suffering serious burns.

Officials say it could be arson because the fire started on the first floor and spread very quickly.

At the same time, firefighters were responding to another fire over a mile away near 65th and Sangamon.

A home at that location caught fire and spread to a neighboring home.
