FERGUSON, Mo. — A grand jury decided not to indict Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown, setting off fresh confrontations between protesters and police in the tense Missouri city Monday night.

The grand jurors were “the only ones who have heard all the evidence,” St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said.

After an “exhaustive review,” the jurors deliberated for two days before coming to this decision, he said.
