FedEx worker shot on the South Side

Chicago Police officers are looking for the person who shot a FedEx employee and another man on the city’s South Side Friday night.

A 35-year-old unidentified woman was making a delivery for FedEx near 41st and S. Drexel Boulevard at 6:37pm when she was shot several times in the right leg.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the left arm.

He was also taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

A FedEx spokesman confirmed an employee was shot.

“It’s a difficult time for us and our primary concern is for the safety and concern of our employee and her family,’ says FedEx spokesperson Scott Fiedler.

Police say the shooting may be gang-related and the woman was caught in the cross-fire.
