Smarty Pants Yoga may look like a typical yoga class – with breathing and stretching – but there’s also a serious lesson to be learned.
Each class centers on a different issue told through the story of a strong female character. Girls listen and discuss the good and the bad and afterwards the story is retold through yoga.
The classes give young ladies a chance to find their voice and express it in the right way.
Annie Warshaw is the founder and CEO – and a former 2nd grade teacher who wanted to get in front of problems before young girls were faced with handling them.
In its second year in business, Smarty Pants is now teaching 1st through 5th graders in 40 different city and suburban schools and is heavily involved in park districts across the area.
It continued to expand in hopes of raising a more confident generation of women.
