CHICAGO — The Lane Tech robotics team is headed to Detroit later this month to compete in a robotics world championship.

As the only CPS school to qualify, Lane Tech isn’t just seeking bragging rights. Students will have a chance to compete for more than $70 million in college scholarships handed out by major engineering firms, among others.

The showdown happens April 25-28.

WGN’s Erin Ivory has more.
